Not every piece begins with metal. Some are first born from wax — a soft, delicate material that allows ideas to flow freely before they take their final form. Others start directly in silver or gold, shaped and refined by hand from the very first touch.

From Imagination to Form

Wax is a place of exploration — a way to sculpt what cannot be easily drawn or planned. Using carving tools, gravers, and a heated wax pen, I create organic shapes that feel alive — flowing curves, textured surfaces, petals and waves.
Each design begins as intuition, guided more by feeling than precision. Some of these wax models will later be cast into metal; others remain as prototypes, inspiring new directions.

The Alchemy of Casting

Once a wax piece is ready, it is encased in investment plaster. When the mold hardens, it is heated — the wax melts away, leaving a hollow form. Molten silver or gold fills that space, transforming something soft and temporary into something eternal.
After casting, the raw metal piece is cleaned, refined, and polished by hand. It is here that the artistry shifts from sculpting to finishing — bringing out shine, balance, and the character of the piece.

Working Directly with Metal

Not all Orétoille pieces begin in wax. Many are shaped directly from metal — sawed, soldered, filed, and polished entirely by hand. This approach gives a different kind of energy — more defined, architectural, sometimes even spontaneous in its simplicity.
Both paths — wax and metal — allow me to create with intention, movement, and emotion.
